Description
This will be the third time at North Shore Point House Concerts for Robbie Fulks.
Event Details
His 2017 release, Upland Stories, earned year’s-best recognition from NPR and Rolling Stone among many others, as well as two Grammy nominations, for folk album and American roots song (“Alabama At Night”).
His latest is a brilliant country rock record with Linda Gail Lewis (Jerry Lee's sister) titled "Wild, Wild, Wild" that landed on many year-end best of 2018 lists.
You know him as a brilliant lyricist, singer, and player. He will be appearing with Jenny Scheinman, who has charted a varied career of her own collaborating on jazz and Americana recordings.
Rolling Stone calls him "one of the most observant and wry songwriters of the past two decades."
The New York Times says: "Mr. Fulks is more than a songwriter. He's a gifted guitarist, a soulful singer with an expressive honky-tonk tenor, and he's a natural performer. But what really sets him apart is his songwriting."
Fulks was born in York, Pennsylvania, and grew up in a half-dozen small towns in southeast Pennsylvania, the North Carolina Piedmont, and the Blue Ridge area of Virginia.
Doors at 7 (except for VIP donations). Show at 8 p.m.
Here are a few videos:
"Cigarette State" encore at North Shore Point.
"Let's Kill Saturday Night"
"I Just Lived a Country Song."
