When inspiration hits, sometimes it's with a mouthwatering plate of smoked beef brisket with spicy tomato chowchow and a mug of full-bodied craft beer. At least that's how the idea for the Amber Ox came to us. We've been friends for decades, working and collaborating together in the restaurant industry, and we share a passion for great food and craft beer. We saw a need for a cool, creative, casual and approachable new eating and drinking establishment in Williamsburg, and we decided to meet it.
With the Amber Ox, we wanted to combine our passions for running a restaurant to create a cool dining experience that you'll really remember, centered around our passion for regional craft beer. We've loved doing our own home brewing for years and we wanted the Amber Ox to carry that same focus of handcrafted quality beer from our sister brewery, Precarious Beer Project, as well as beers from other regional craft producers.
At the Amber Ox, we're serving beer to a demographic of people who also want to try new things. Our 18 draft handles will rotate daily and will always offer seasonally inspired beers from P.B.P as well as products from our fellow brothers in the craft brewing industry.
We're focused on maintaining the perfect balance between innovative, Southern-inspired cuisine and an extraordinary offering of regional beers, wine and spirits for our customers and community. It's through food and drink that we connect to our roots — and then to each other.
