Event Details
A Tale for Two happens every Monday, but we've spiced things up for our October 25th event! Young readers are invited to come to the shelter to read a story to our adoptable animals, but this time our staff (and some of our animals) will be ready to greet you in Halloween costumes!
The animals will welcome donations of treats, and we will have treats available for all the young readers. We invite readers to come in costume as well, but we ask that any masks be left at home. We don't want to scare our cats and dogs!
A Tale for Two is an extension of our Listening Ears Program which pairs a young reader with an animal to make the experience of reading more fun. By bringing the readers to our shelter, our adoptable cats and dogs get to benefit from the positive presence of a child, boosting confidence in both the pet and the person. This In-shelter reading program is open to youth ages 6-13.
To reserve a space for your child, select either the cattery or kennel when you choose your ticket option. There is no set ticket price, although we ask for a suggested donation of $5. There is limited space for this unique opportunity. Thank you for your support.
